SILP Project

Final data of the SIUC project (published on: Italian Journal of Wound Care vol.1 no.1, new official organ of the Italian Association of Ulcers Cutanee - AIUC onlus) have unequivocally shown that lesions managed in home care are, for more than 90% of cases, pressure sores. Comparison of data in terms of percentages between care setting (27.9% ADI) and lesion etiology (LdP 28.1%) was found to be overlapping.

From these observations emerges the need to gain more information about care delivered  to patients with Pressure sores, both in terms of quality and quantity. This need is even more pressing in Italy where healthcare has a regional bases.

For all these reasons, the SILP project (STUDIO ITALIANO ULCERE DA PRESSIONE) was born.
Through the SILP study we intend to acquire information about:

THE PROJECT IS ACTIVE FROM APRIL, 1st, 2017 TO JULY, 31st, 2018

The data collection is done on an electronic platform, of exclusive property of AIUC. It works in encrypted mode, with automatic data processing and publishing them in aggregate.

All members must feel committed to the study to achieve these important goals.

A first major achievement will be to be able to find the data of at least 2000 patients.
